When I paint my spirit is let loose...

About me

I am a landscape artist based on the Helford River in Cornwall. I paint outside, using gouache, and bring these to the studio to develop into larger acrylic and oil paintings. I studied at the Slade School of Art and moved to Cornwall in 2020 to become a full time artist.

Upcoming show - "Places I remember" 9 - 25 October

I will have a solo show this autumn at the beautiful Summerhouse Gallery in Marazion. The Private View is Thursday 8th October from 6 to 8pm, and the show opens on Friday 9th October and runs until Sunday 25th October. Please let me or Rhiannon at the Summerhouse know if you would like to come to the PV. The exhibition title is inspired by The Beatles' song "In my life" and will feature both landscape and abstract pieces that celebrate places I love.

This summer I was very excited to launch my latest series of paintings featuring St Mawes and Roseland. Available through the Waterside Gallery in St Mawes, you can also view the collection here and email the gallery for more information or to buy amanda@watersidegallery.co.uk. Next year this will be published as a book with further exhibitions planned.

My second Helford sketchbook will also be published later this year and new paintings from this second book are now available here, and you can order my first book Helford Sketchbook #1 here (limited copies left).

Below is a selection of available recent works, also check out the Paintings section to view more. More about my work can be also found in the recent article "Finding sanctuary" in Drift Journal Issue 51, December 2025.
