Painted on Arches Huile paper, protected with a clear wax coat, mounted on board and framed with a slab tray frame in white wood.

A soft quiet painting to restore the senses. Early morning light before the sun is up. Lilac shadows on the distant headland. Definitely shades of Monet and Cezanne in the inspiration. One of my favourites, it has a chalkiness in the paint that I like, and the purples in the shadows that fade to an unexpected bright blue that just works.
