Marmalade skies

Painted on Arches Huile paper, with a deep pink ground, protected with a clear wax coat, mounted on board and framed with a St Ives tray frame in white wood. Also available in a pair with "Tangerine Trees" for £1295 (message me for this offer).

The colours in winter are amazing in the early morning, the sky brightens and steely blues and tangerines compete for attention. This painting, along with its sister “Tangerine trees” were inspired by my early morning walks to Grebe beach for the cold water swim. It makes it easier to get up and out in the dark as you know you will see sky fireworks on the way. This was painted with a new shade for me, “Jaune Brilliant” by Holbein which is a lovely tangerine peach colour. I love it partnered with my usual dusky pink which is a bit of a signature colour for me.
