Sunrise sensation, Grebe

£ 695.00

Painted on Arches Huile paper, with a deep pink ground, protected with a clear wax coat, mounted on board and framed with a St Ives tray frame in white wood which measures 8cm.

I decided with this painting not to use any white, only the buff titanium. I wanted to create the feeling of being surrounded in pink. The two distant headlands are the north and south banks of the Helford River, looking out to sea. I see them most days, either from Grebe or the many walks along the coastline here. They are a recurring motif in my paintings. With this piece, I like how it hovers just between landscape and abstract. A celebration of dawn and the power of pink. It is quite an immersive painting, you get lost in the nuances of pink and textures. Sits well with other pink skies in my "Light fantastic" collection

This oil painting is 35 x 35cm and the frame 8cm. Two paintings together from this collection would be £1300, please message me.
