Brooding skies over the Lizard

Painted on Arches Huile paper and protected with a clear wax coat.

This painting will be available to buy through the Summerhouse Gallery, Marazion as part of their "Unframed" exhibition from 25th October 2024 to 1st January

This is the view out from Cow Beach on the Mawnan side of the Helford, looking across to Nare Point on the Lizard. This particular morning there was a stunning moody sky with a pop of apricot on the horizon. I wanted to capture that sense of brooding and also the shapes of the rocks on the beach which look almost carved. It was one of those moments on a walk when you just stop and take a breath and marvel at the colours of Nature.
