Summer shade, Scott’s Quay

This painting is an impressionistic view of Scott’s Quay on the Helford, on a sunny midsummer day. The shady parts of the river glow a deep green, reflecting the overhanging trees, whilst the river is a mirror to the tapestry of blue sky and white clouds above. This was painted on a pink primed canvas, and flashes of pink burst through to add to the luminosity of the light bouncing off the water and trees. 

This painting comes in a black tray frame. It is also shown paired with its sister painting "Contemplation".
