Painted on Arches Huile paper, with a deep rose ground. The primed paper is revealed through scraping back into the paint, creating a luminosity.
This is all about the heavy late autumn seed heads, precariously balanced on fragile stems. They are hanging onto their precious seeds, waiting for the right wind to come and scatter them into the soil and create next season's new life.
