Abstracts and flowers
I adore colour and layers, so often find myself in periods of just wanting to paint abstracts and more recently, abstract flowers. I am a keen gardener and one of my happiest times of the day is sat on my garden sofa with a good cup of coffee, watching the sunrise and the flowers in the soft pink light. It is where I get a lot of my inspiration for my paintings. One visitor to a recent exhibition said "I love abstracts because you never get bored looking at them, there is always something new to see and think about". With my flower paintings I like to hover between the flower and an abstraction of the form, colour and light. They are paintings created with pure joy.
