Serpentine waters

A large piece on Arches Huile paper,

This painting will be available to buy through the Summerhouse Gallery, Marazion as part of their "Unframed" exhibition from 25th October 2024 to 1st January.

Sister painting to "Rose quartz dawn" it features another iconic headland on the Helford, Durgan.

"Serpentine waters" is named after the beautiful stone which is found naturally on the beaches of Cornwall, specifically Kynance Cove. The stone is green marbled with pink flecks, and is said to "have several powers, including detoxifying the body, enhancing cellular regeneration, reducing stress, and clearing energy blockages. It is also thought to promote spiritual growth and enlightenment." Swimming in the serpentine waters of the Helford seems to share these properties.
